Identification
This is a minnow species that was present in Clear Lake, the lowland areas of the Central Valley, San Francisco Bay tributaries, the Pajaro River, and the Salinas River. Adults reached sizes of approximately 27 cm (11 inches) long. The species declined in the late 1800s, and the last individual was caught in 1957 from the Sacramento River. The species is now extinct.
