Steelhead Trout Habitat in the Upper Salinas River Watershed

Advisor Royce Larsen & Specialist Lisa
Thompson studied the distribution of threatened steelhead trout in the
Upper Salinas River Watershed, relative to temperature, flow, dissolved
oxygen, & riparian & instream habitat in 2004 - 2005. The study now
has 16 sites on private & public lands. Specialist Bill Tietje has
joined the group, which now plans to study the role of hardwood large woody
debris in creating fish habitat in southern California streams.
